I'm horrified by the developments in Ukraine and am writing to ask that you urge the UK government to exercise all means possible to ensure Russia's unspeakable aggression is stopped. I strongly believe that the government’s current set of proposals do not go far enough, failing the people of Ukraine and condemning many to greater loss, misery and bloodshed.

We must do what we can to end this war, but also protect the vulnerable people who have been forced to flee their homes and seek safety. I am asking you to follow the same path as some of our closest allies and urge the UK government to take the following actions:

  • Remove the need for visas for Ukrainians fleeing this cruel war, irrespective of whether they possess family members who have settled in the UK

  • Provide automatic asylum to those fleeing Ukraine for up to 3 years

  • Push for a diplomatic solution and for cessation of all military activity by Russia

I ask for your support in raising this issue with your colleagues at the UK Parliament, directly with Priti Patel MP, and at other local and international forums.

We must end this conflict before we have even bigger humanitarian implications, and we must support those who are fleeing for their lives.
